Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and television actor known for her performance as the fierce lawyer Teri Joseph in the Showtime show Soul Food. The actress is known under her maiden name of Nikki Kodjoe. From the time she was a child, Nikki Kodjoe was a naturally talented actor. At the Maryland competition for high school students she won the award for Best Actress. She received her degree in acting at New York University after working in the Washington Ballet Company' and on stage. The actress received lots of praise after her debut large performance as a character in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love. After that, she appeared in movies like "Boogie Nights Spark" and "Blue Streak". Soul Food received a lot of reviews for her performance. In addition, she was a part of TV programs like Second Time Around' and Empire. Earlier in the career she acted in several stage productions. Parker is also engaged in politics and is married model-actor Boris Kodjoe. Both have two kids.
Contractor, born from Mumbai in India she was raised in Nigeria through the age of seven. She had already experienced a lot of travel and different cultures at a very young age. She was a boarding student in London from seven to nine years of age, and then her family relocated into Toronto, Canada, where she lived for the bulk of her childhood and young adulthood. Then, in Toronto, Contractor excelled in academics and trained as a classical ballerina. She was a student at the Etobicoke School of the Arts which is a highly specialized public arts high school, where she was not just a dancer but also studied theater. When she was 16 and after more than 10 years of dance Contractor realized she wanted to pursue acting seriously. After graduating high school, she accepted a full scholarship to the University of Toronto, where she pursued a masters in the field of theatre, and a double major in sociology and psychology. Contractor was offered the leading character in Pericles following her one year stay at the University. She was a part of the audition for it in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and received. After the show ran for 92 times, she was rewarded with positive reviews. The play was deemed the best production by Canadian critics. The conservatory in Stratford is home to eight males with four females, along with a couple of others for a weeks crash course. She was scheduled to perform in the following season of plays was confirmed, and she was cast in the role in Hermia from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
